Why We Build With One Material, Not a Composite
Every AMICE case, from the Original to the Florence, is built entirely from 100% aluminium. Not aluminium panels bonded to a plastic core, not a composite that looks the part but flexes under pressure. One material, top to bottom, chosen because it behaves the same way under stress every time.
That single-material approach is also why the case holds its shape. Where a molded shell absorbs an impact by flexing and eventually cracking, an aluminium frame distributes the force across itself. It dents instead of shatters, and a dent doesn't compromise what's inside the way a crack does.
How the Frame Is Actually Built
Each case starts as sheet aluminium, cut and formed into the ribbed panels that give the shell its rigidity. The ribs aren't decorative, they're what let a thin sheet of metal resist bending without adding extra weight. The Original carries five vertical ribs, the Check-in six, spaced to reinforce the panel exactly where it flexes most under load.
The frame is finished by hand, panel by panel, before the corners are reinforced separately. Corners take the first hit in almost every drop, on a conveyor belt, off a luggage cart, out of an overhead bin, so they're built to absorb that impact before it reaches the rest of the shell.
Built to Take a Hit
Airports are not gentle with luggage. Conveyor belts, cargo holds, the occasional hard drop from a baggage handler in a hurry, a case has to survive all of it, repeatedly, for years.
Aluminium is the material that takes that abuse and keeps functioning. The frame doesn't fatigue the way plastic does after repeated stress, and a dent doesn't spread or worsen the way a crack in polycarbonate does. It absorbs the impact once and holds.
