Privacy policy

Your data is yours. We only use it to do what you ask of us, and we treat it the way we'd want ours treated. This page explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

What we collect, and why

  • When you place an order: your name, address, email address, phone number and order details. We need these to deliver your order, send you updates about it, and meet our legal obligations, such as keeping invoices for the tax authorities.
  • When you sign up for our emails: your email address, and your language preference where relevant. We only send you marketing emails with your consent, or when you're a customer and we tell you about similar products. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing always works.
  • When you contact us: your name, email address and the content of your message. We use these to help you, and to look back at earlier conversations so you don't have to repeat yourself.
  • When you book a showroom visit: your name, email address and the details you share when booking, so we can prepare your visit.
  • When you browse our site: technical data such as your device, browser and the pages you visit. With your consent, we also use cookies for analytics and advertising. You choose what you allow in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

Who we share data with

  • We never sell your data.
  • We share data with partners who help us run the shop, and only what they need for their task: our webshop platform (Shopify), payment providers shown at checkout, delivery partners who bring you your order, our email platform for newsletters and order emails, our booking tool for showroom appointments, and advertising and analytics platforms, but only if you've consented to those cookies.
  • Payment through Klarna is subject to Klarna's own privacy policy, as Klarna is responsible for its own processing.
  • Some of these partners are based outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where that's the case, we rely on the safeguards required by European law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your data

  • Order and invoice data: 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
  • Email marketing data: until you unsubscribe.
  • Customer service conversations: as long as needed to help you, and to keep context for future questions.
  • Cookie data: according to the terms in the cookie banner.

Your rights

  • You can ask us at any time to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or transfer it to you.
  • You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and you can withdraw consent whenever you want, for example by unsubscribing or changing your cookie settings.
  • Email info@amicetravel.nl and we'll take care of it.
  • If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we start working with a new partner. The current version is always on this page.
